Description
This small painting tells the story of Hagar and her struggle after being given to Abraham as a wife. She flees to wilderness twice, first time as a pregnant woman, second time she flees with Ishmael. I painted the moment when Ishmael is at the point of death, but God intervenes and saves them both. Though marked by abandonment and sorrow, it shows that God sees her and offers promise and hope.
