The Holy Family

In this painting, I aimed for a more traditional portrait with centered composition. And although it seems that Mary is central to the scene, there are two details about Joseph that I want to point out. First one is his hand, gently touching Jesus’ foot. I wanted to express his soft presence in Savior’s life. Another one is Jewish stripes on his shawl. I wanted to show Joseph’s Jewish inheritance.
