Raised in Slovakia during the transformative post-communist era, my journey in visual arts was nurtured by a family that valued creativity and exploration.
Education
This passion led me to study at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, followed by an enriching period at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles in Brussels, an institution renowned for its illustrious alumni, including Vincent Van Gogh.
Travels
My graduation in 2008 marked the culmination of a rich educational journey, augmented by extensive travels across Western Europe. Visits to galleries in cities like Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Florence, and Padua provided invaluable insights into the works of the old masters.
Relocating to Arizona
In 2013, a new chapter began when I relocated to Arizona with my husband, embarking on a decade of family life with our four children.
Artistic Focus
I work with pastel and oil, focusing on figurative and religious themes. My art explores vibrant colors and gently diverges from traditional academic classicism, aiming to bring a touch of modern vitality to classical forms.
My religious themes are focused on Catholic topics, hidden life of Jesus’ childhood, and his public ministry.
In my pastel works I focus on portraiture, scenes from our daily life. I especially cherish the morning light and gentle shadows it casts on my kids’ faces.
