Seen and Chosen by God

About Painting

Leah entered marriage unloved, with Jacob’s heart belonging to Rachel. Yet Bible says, “The Lord saw that Leah was unloved.” While others overlooked her, God did not.

Through her sons, Leah’s heart turned from longing for human affection to trusting God. When she gave birth to her fourth son, she named him Judah, saying, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Judah means praise, marking a turning point from pain to worship.

From Leah’s praise came Judah—and from Judah came kings, and ultimately Jesus. God chose this woman to carry a lineage that would bless the world.
